I’m shaving my head for charity
On March 22, 2011, I was diagnosed with Stage II ovarian cancer. On May 3, I started my chemotherapy treatment. The doctor says there is 100% chance of hair loss. So I’m taking the bull by the horns and turning my adversity into good for the world.
Friday evening May 13th, me and a few friends will be shaving our heads for charity.
We hope to raise $3,000 or more for the Kibera School for Girls located in Africa’s largest slum in Nairobi.

I learned about the Kibera School for Girls from my networking friend Eva Hausman who was so inspired by the book Half the Sky, she connected with its author Nicholas Kristof and started the MothersDayMovement.com.
Eva’s goal was to redirect some the $14 billion spent in the USA on mother’s day to make a help mothers world-wide, thereby making Mothers Day more meaningful, not just another Hallmark moment.
Pleas support me in this effort. I invite you to enjoy a slice of my adversity pie by making a $25 donation or more to the worthy cause of Shining Hope for Communities through the MothersDayMovement.com.
- You can make your donation at the event. I’d love to see you at our HAIR RAISER event in West Hartford this coming Friday night, please join us. Download the Hair Raiser_event flyer for more details.
